Plans are underway for the construction of a modern lodge for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Uyangala, Agwutobolo District, Andoni Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to improve accommodation and welfare facilities for corps members serving within the community.

The Corps Members’ Lodge is expected to provide a safe and comfortable residential facility for corps members posted to schools and public institutions within the district. Currently, many corps members face challenges securing suitable accommodation upon arrival, often having to stay in distant communities or in temporary housing arrangements.

Community leaders and stakeholders have welcomed the development, describing it as a strategic initiative aimed at attracting more corps members to serve in the area while improving their living conditions during their service year.

According to sources within the community, the lodge will feature well-structured living spaces, basic amenities, and a conducive environment that will support corps members in carrying out their teaching, healthcare, and community development responsibilities effectively.

Leaders in Agwutobolo District noted that the presence of corps members has continued to contribute positively to education, healthcare delivery, and youth development across communities in the area.

Residents have expressed optimism that the construction of the lodge will strengthen the relationship between the community and corps members, while also encouraging them to participate actively in community development initiatives.

The project reflects the district’s commitment to supporting national development programs and creating an enabling environment for young graduates serving the nation.
