Stakeholders in Andoni Local Government Area gathered for a strategic review of the Andoni Community Needs Assessment as part of ongoing efforts to identify and prioritize developmental needs across communities in the area.

The review meeting brought together Andoni Traditional Rulers, members of the Management Committee (MANCOM), Advisory Committee (ADCOM), representatives of the Local Government Area (LGA), and a PIA Consultant, alongside members of the Andoni Needs Assessment Committee.

The engagement was held at Novotel Hotel and Resorts, where the Andoni Needs Assessment Committee formally presented the findings of the comprehensive assessment conducted across Andoni communities.

During the presentation, the committee outlined key developmental gaps and priority areas requiring intervention, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, environmental sustainability, and community economic development. The assessment was carried out to provide a structured and data-driven understanding of the needs of the people of Andoni.

The PIA Consultant commended the committee for the thorough work carried out and emphasized that the needs assessment would serve as a critical framework for planning and implementing sustainable community development projects in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).

Traditional rulers present at the meeting expressed appreciation to the committee for the effort invested in gathering community inputs and stressed the importance of ensuring that the identified needs truly reflect the priorities of the people across all Andoni communities.

Members of MANCOM, ADCOM, and the LGA representatives also reviewed the document and made valuable contributions aimed at strengthening the report and aligning it with development planning and implementation strategies.

In their remarks, the Andoni Needs Assessment Committee reiterated that the goal of the exercise is to create a clear roadmap that will guide interventions, promote transparency, and ensure equitable distribution of development projects across Andoni communities.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment by all stakeholders to work collaboratively towards addressing the identified needs and advancing sustainable development in Andoni Local Government Area.

The review session marks an important step toward ensuring that community development initiatives are driven by verified data, stakeholder participation, and strategic planning.
