Plans are underway for the development of a modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre in Ataba Town, Ataba District, Andoni Local Government Area, as part of efforts to enhance digital education and technological advancement within the community.

The ICT Centre is expected to serve as a hub for digital learning, computer training, and technological innovation, providing young people and residents of Ataba with access to essential information technology resources. Before now the people go to Bori in Khana LGA to register for their JAMB and CBT, which is a long distance away via water way. The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping the community with the tools and knowledge required to thrive in today’s technology-driven world.

Community stakeholders have welcomed the project, describing it as a strategic step toward empowering youths, improving digital literacy, and creating new opportunities for education and employment in the district.

According to sources within the community, the ICT Centre will feature modern computer systems, internet connectivity, training facilities, and learning resources designed to support skills acquisition in areas such as computer operations, online research, digital communication, and other technology-based competencies.

Leaders in Ataba District noted that the centre will not only benefit students but will also support entrepreneurs, job seekers, and community members who require access to digital services and information.

Residents have expressed optimism that the project, once completed, will significantly contribute to capacity building, youth empowerment, and overall socio-economic development in Ataba Town and surrounding communities.

The ICT Centre reflects the growing recognition of the importance of technology and digital education as critical drivers of community development in Andoni Local Government Area.

Stakeholders have therefore called for continued collaboration and support to ensure the successful realization and sustainability of the ICT Centre project for the benefit of present and future generations.
